To reach our ambitious goals and become the World’s Number One payment provider, we need you to join us as our experienced Legal Counsel

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be a key member of our legal team. You will be able to contribute and voice your experience and ideas on managing and improving our contracts and related processes and risk mitigation tools. You will be responsible for working with our valuable fintech and bank customers on finding the best business, legal and regulatory arrangement to effectively deliver our forerunner solution.

While you will be expected to be able to perform your duties independently, you won’t be alone. You will work closely with our Legal team that will support you with company legal principles and guidelines to effectively execute your role. You will also have the support of key technical and industry experts in the company that will support your industry and company knowledge to give context and specifications in the assessment and implementation of your advice.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, negotiating and managing customer contracts and running commercial negotiations together with our Sales team.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts, collaboration and partnership agreements.

  • Developing and managing templates and the internal knowledge sharing about our contract terms.

  • Developing and managing processes related to group contract lifecycle matters.

  • Understanding regulatory developments related to our business and their contractual effects.

  • Acting as a resource internally with different departments for legal guidance.

What we look for:

  • 3+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably from a law firm, financial institution or fintech in the payments industry.

  • Qualified to practice law in the UK, Finland or any other major European jurisdiction.

  • Proven track record of drafting a variety of different contracts and excellent negotiating skills.

  • Hands-on attitude and ability to execute while keeping the big picture in mind. As a key person, communication and interpersonal skills are important.

  • Ability to work in regulated industry. Regulatory knowledge, such as EU (EMD, PSD2, CBPR2, AMLD) or their UK equivalent is considered as a plus.

  • Excellent English language proficiency.

This is a permanent position and you would be working mostly from our Espoo, or London office. We are a modern workplace where remote working is available.
