7 minute read

Welcome back to a new chapter of “My Seat At The Table”, our exclusive blog series launched to honor International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, where we highlight some of the remarkable women who play a vital role in shaping Enfuce’s success.

In this blog series, we hear from five incredible Enfucers from diverse backgrounds and roles. Through their inspiring stories and unique perspectives, they share what it truly means to them to have a seat at the table, how they empower other women in their professional and personal lives and the changes they hope to see in the fintech landscape for greater equality.

In fintech, we all know, financial transactions’ security comes first – that’s why for this new interview we wanted to turn the spotlight on who’s behind Enfuce’s exceptional security standards. We’re excited to speak with Krista Rask Fraud Specialist at Enfuce’s Bureau of Investigations, who has been with Enfuce for over three years, overseeing all operations and protecting Enfuce against fraud risks.

Have a read and join us in our mission to raise awareness, advocate and celebrate women in business.

Hi Krista, what’s your role at Enfuce?

I’m a Fraud Specialist at Enfuce’s Bureau of Investigations, I handle various tasks, from managing our operations to refining our services.

What lights up my day is teaming up with our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead internal training sessions. There’s something special about sharing knowledge and building a stronger team. And let’s not forget the moments when “fraud” pops up in conversation – that’s my cue to step in. It reminds me of my vital role in protecting our organisation, and it gives my work a deeper sense of purpose.

To me, International Women’s Day holds immense significance because it’s a time to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of women while also highlighting the areas that still require attention and improvement.

What did you want to be when you were little?

When I was young, I had big dreams of either becoming a professional show jumper or a professional dancer. Animals, particularly horses, have always held a special place in my heart, and that love has never waned.

However, as I grew older, I chose to keep my hobbies separate from my career aspirations. But don’t get me wrong, I haven’t given up on my dreams involving horses. I still hold onto the hope that one day I’ll have a cozy little stable of my own.

What do you think of International Women’s Day (IWD)?

To me, International Women’s Day holds immense significance because it’s a time to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of women while also highlighting the areas that still require attention and improvement. It’s not just about raising awareness; it’s about empowering women, fueling their confidence, and inspiring them to chase their aspirations.

It serves as a reminder of our collective efforts towards creating a world where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive. Essentially, it’s a day of celebration, solidarity, and continued advocacy for a more equitable society.

What does it mean to you to have a Seat at The Table?

To me having “A Seat at The Table” signifies inclusion, empowerment, and the recognition of one’s expertise and perspective. It’s about ensuring that diverse voices are not only heard but also valued and respected in shaping the direction of organisations, communities, and societies as a whole.

Can you share a personal or professional experience where you felt the impact of having, or not having, your Seat At The Table

When I was younger and spent countless hours at dance practices each week, I tended to follow the lead more. I was a bit timid and lacked confidence. But the professional dancers I got to work with or train under back then? They were absolute inspirations. They didn’t just teach us; they cheered us on, no matter where we came from or what gender we were.

We were five women from totally different backgrounds, all banding together toward one goal. And let me tell you, we shook things up in the Finnish dance scene for a bit.

In my twenties, I lucked out and joined a smaller dance crew called The Missfits. We were five women from totally different backgrounds, all banding together toward one goal. And let me tell you, we shook things up in the Finnish dance scene for a bit. That experience opened my eyes. Ever since, I’ve been all about lifting up my coworkers and friends. I make sure they know they’re supported and represented, giving them the boost they need to shine.

Who are the women who influenced your career the most and you feel helped you get #MySeatAtTheTable?

Without a doubt, my mom is my biggest inspiration. When my siblings and I were young, we often had to live abroad due to my dad’s job. This meant that my mom took on the role of a stay-at-home mom for many years. However, when we finally moved back to Finland, she wasted no time in rebuilding her career from scratch.

Today, she has forged an incredible path in the automotive industry. Her persistence and strong work ethic have always motivated me, especially seeing how she manages to keep things light-hearted and fun despite the challenges. She’s a true example of resilience and determination.

At Enfuce, I owe a huge thank you to our co-CEO, Monika. Since day one, we’ve engaged in fantastic, honest discussions about everything under the sun, all aimed at propelling our company forward. We never forget to share a good laugh amidst our serious talks.

What I admire most about Monika is how she pushes me to reach new heights, yet she also genuinely wants to hear how things are going and how I’m doing. It’s a perfect balance of support and growth.

How do you empower other women at work or in your day to day life?

I strongly believe in creating a supportive community where women feel valued and respected, where their voices are heard and their perspectives are valued. I want to provide an open and judgment-free space for dialogue, where women can share their experiences and ideas. My goal is to empower other women to celebrate their achievements, no matter how big or small they may seem, and to inspire them to reach for their dreams with confidence and determination.

What’s the advice you would give to other women who might want to have a Seat At The Table and are currently facing challenges?

Believe in yourself and your abilities, embracing challenges as opportunities for personal growth, while also seeking support from those around you and not hesitating to speak up and advocate for yourself. Continuously invest in your development by learning and staying resilient in the face of setbacks.

In your opinion, what can the fintech industry as a whole do to promote gender equality and ensure that women not only have a seat at the table but also feel heard and valued?

In the world of fintech, we can do a lot to promote gender equality by keeping things transparent and making sure everyone feels included. By encouraging different voices and viewpoints, we can make sure women have their say and are heard when decisions are being made. It’s all about making sure everyone feels valued and respected in the process.

To me having “A Seat at The Table” signifies inclusion, empowerment, and the recognition of one’s expertise and perspective.

Thank you for sharing, Krista!
