To reach our ambitious goals and become the World’s Number One payment provider, we need you to join us as our Engineering Technical Lead.
THE ROLE AND TEAM
As an Engineering Team Lead within Enfuce, you hold a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our software engineering efforts. Your responsibility is to provide experienced technology leadership within the team, line manage the software engineers, and collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure a well-aligned, efficient, effective and motivated development team. By fostering a healthy team culture, addressing technical challenges, and aiding in story creation, you play a crucial part in driving the team's productivity, delivering exceptional products and services that achieve our business objectives.
What we're looking for:
- Technical Leadership: Provide senior technology expertise and guidance to the software development team. Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges, review code, and ensure the adoption of best practices and coding standards.
- Team Leadership: Line manages the software engineers in the team, including setting performance goals, providing coaching and mentorship, conducting performance evaluations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner: Ensure that the product backlog is well-prioritized, refined, and aligned with business targets. Provide input on technical feasibility, complexity, current platform performance (incidents/defects/security issues) and dependencies. Aid in the creation of well-defined user stories, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of the "what" and "why."
- Continuous Planning and Execution: Participate in planning meetings, providing technical insights and guidance to the team. Provide guidance on tech debt, and underlying problems driving customer issues and consuming development resources. Review data on team performance, identify areas for improvement, and work with the Product Owner to optimize outcomes.
- Team Health: Assess and nurture the health of the development team. Conduct pulse checks during retrospectives, address concerns, and maintain a positive and collaborative team environment that is resourced appropriately with talented individuals that are performing to appropriate standards.
- Incident Management: Work with software engineers and wider development resources to own the categorisation and resolution of incidents with the Payment Platform.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product Managers, Domain Experts, Architects, Commercial, and Marketing colleagues, and CTO to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business objectives.
- Problem Solving: Address technical challenges and issues that arise during development. Collaborate with the team and wider technology subject matter experts (other ETLs, Architects etc) to find effective solutions and optimize the development process.
